In obedience to Pope Francis's call to live the Year of Consecrated Life, Santa Croce is offering a workshop to reflect on consecrated life, to hear the testimony and pray with and for the religious.
Pope Francis has invited the whole Church to live the Year of Consecrated Life "first to thank the Lord and to commemorate grateful for the gifts received and still receive through the sanctity of the founders and foundresses and fidelity of so many consecrated to their charism. Responding to this call and following St. Josemaria, the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross offers a day to reflect on consecrated life, to hear the testimony and pray with and for the religious.
After a welcome from the rector of the university, Mons. Paolo Martinelli, OFM Cap., the Auxiliary Bishop of Milan, Mons. Paolo Martinelli OFM Cap., will give a talk on "The evangelical counsels and the consecrated life in the thought of Hans Urs von Balthasar." Rev. Prof. P. Fabio Ciardi, OMI, will then speak on "The charism of the Founder." After the testimonials of some men and women religious, the workshop will end with a meeting of Prayer for Consecrated Life at the Basilica of St. Apollinaris.
St. Josemaria wrote: "We reverence and affection for all religious, and pray to the Lord to make each day more effective their service to the Church and to all humanity" (Conversations 54 )
