Pencils in the Hands of God

Dear Benefactors,

I would like to thank you for the contributions you have made over the past few years, which have helped me to continue my priestly formation.

As you know, the circumstances in which the Church is living are not easy regarding vocations to the priesthood. I look forward to returning to my diocese of Ibiza and Formentera, in Spain, to serve the faithful.

My mission starts now, and I will try to live everything I have been taught at my residence in Rome, the Sedes Sapientiae College: humility, work, prayer, service, generosity, mercy and faithfulness.

I know only one phrase to describe this experience: Thank you. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in Rome! Words cannot express the good that this program does for the Church!

Sometimes I realize that I have many errors, and I feel unworthy to carry out this great ministry. I am relieved, however, that God is able to do great things with poor instruments. As Mother Teresa said, “we are pencils in the hands of God.” God is the one who writes, and we are His pens.

Finally, I wish you the dearest blessings and I pray for you. You are present in my intentions every day.

A very warm greeting,

José María Escardell
